HELP Society, officially known as Helping Everyone Live and Prosper Society, celebrates World Environment Day 2025 with Cherry Blossom Plantation Drive and Free Sapling Distribution in Dima Hasao
05 June 2025, Haflong — HELP Society, one of the leading grassroots organizations in Dima Hasao, marked World Environment Day 2025 with an inspiring series of environmental initiatives, aligning with this year’s global theme #BeatPlasticPollution. Recognizing the growing threat of plastic waste to our environment and public health, HELP Society’s efforts focused on raising awareness and encouraging community participation in sustainable, eco-friendly practices.
This year’s celebration was symbolic and action-oriented, as the Society organized a special cherry blossom plantation drive at two culturally and environmentally significant locations, the “I Love Dima Hasao or Sibarai Hading” viewpoint and the revered Devithan area. These beautiful pink blossoms, native to high-altitude areas, were planted to beautify the landscape and remind us of the need to protect our fragile ecosystems. These locations now house beautiful cherry blossom trees, which were planted as living symbols of hope, peace, resilience, and environmental renewal.
