03.02.2026, Maibang, Dima Hasao || A devastating fire broke out at Subhash Nagar near Maibang Railway Station under Maibang Police Station in Dima Hasao District on 03rd February 2026, Tuesday morning, causing widespread destruction and leaving several families homeless.

According to local residents, the fire started around 6:30 AM, reportedly due to the burning of litter in the vicinity, and rapidly spread through the densely populated area. The situation escalated when multiple LPG cylinders exploded, intensifying the blaze and making firefighting operations extremely challenging. Fire tenders from the Maibang sub-division rushed to the spot, but the magnitude of the fire resulted in severe damage before it could be contained.
