Zonal Level Workshop on Upcycling of Used Papers into Eco-Friendly Pens Successfully Coordinated by HELP Society (Helping Everyone Live and Prosper Society) on the 19th of January 2026 at Haflong Government College, Haflong, Dima Hasao.

HELP Society, as the District Nodal Agency for the Environment Education Programme (EEP) in Dima Hasao, successfully coordinated a Zonal Level Workshop on Upcycling of Used Papers into Eco-Friendly Pens, organized by the Eco Club of Haflong Government College, held on 19 January 2026 at Haflong Government College, Haflong, Dima Hasao.

The workshop was conducted under the Environment Education Programme (EEP) implemented by the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC), Science & Technology Department, Government of Assam, with support from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.

Regional Platform for Sustainability and Innovation

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from five districts – Cachar, Dima Hasao, Hailakandi, Hojai, and Sribhumi – making it a significant regional convergence focused on sustainability, innovation, and environmental responsibility. The workshop aimed to promote waste reduction, circular economy practices, and hands-on environmental learning through practical upcycling techniques.

Expert Guidance and Hands – On Learning

The workshop was convened by Dr. Ron Kemprai, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Haflong Government College, with effective coordination by Dr. Runjun Sharma, Dr. Md. Helal Ahmed, Dr. Ponchami Sharma, Mr. Subung Mochahari, and Dr. Joinal Hussain Laskar.

Participants received practical training from Shri Anurag Shrivastava, Founder of Pampearth Sustainable Solutions, who served as the Master Resource Person. His sessions focused on transforming used paper into eco-friendly pens, demonstrating how simple innovations can convert waste into valuable, sustainable products.

The workshop also benefited from technical guidance and support provided by Shri Sameer Kalita, Representative from ASTEC, who emphasized the broader objectives of the Environment Education Programme and the role of institutions and communities in environmental conservation.
