The relief materials were made possible through donations from the people of Dima Hasao.

What began as a collection of donations in Dima Hasao became a journey of community support that eventually reached flood-affected families in Sivasagar.

Assam Flood Relief 2026 Begins in Dima Hasao

The relief journey began several days before the team reached Sivasagar.

Nepali Khuti was among the areas affected by the recent flooding in Sivasagar. The village has also featured in recent flood-related reporting as communities in Upper Assam continue to deal with the aftermath of the disaster.

On 9 August 2026, the team carried out the relief distribution in the area.

The distribution marked the end of several days of collection and preparation and the beginning of the final stage of the relief journey — getting the donated materials into the hands of people who needed them.
